Traxxas Blast vs ProBoat Recoil 2 vs Traxxas Disruptor
25 May, 2021

Today we're playing with boats and go head-to-head with the Brushed Traxxas Blast, the 3S Pro Boat Recoil 2 and the 4S Traxxas Disruptor VXL. Which is the best boat for the price?

At 24 inches long, the Traxxas Blast is the most affordable option in the lineup. It comes with a brushed motor, a 6-cell NiMH battery, charger, transmitter, and everything else you need—except for four AA batteries. This boat is constructed from ABS plastic and has waterproof electronics (except the receiver, which is protected inside a sealed box). The hatch is uniquely secured by a rubber band, and though it's a simple setup, one of the antenna holders broke during unboxing—something to keep in mind.

On the water:

The Blast is smooth, stable, and super easy to drive, making it a fantastic entry-level option. It’s not fast, but that works in its favor for beginners or smaller bodies of water. There’s no listed self-righting feature, and while ours didn’t flip, it might take on water if it does. Overall, a reliable choice for first-timers.
